I was born in Johannesburg and have lived in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, KwaZulu Natal and Gauteng. The furthest I have been from South Africa is to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe (for my honeymoon).

I finished school at Queens College in the Eastern Cape and spent the next four years at the University Of Natal (Durban). Despite having as much fun as possible, I still managed to get an honours degree in molecular biology.

After studying, I played lead guitar in various bands in Durban and had a ball enjoying the last of my freedom before becoming a responsible member of society. When not busy with the band, I was a waiter at Wimpy and taught guitar lessons.

One day, this sexy young thing called Charlene came to Wimpy to buy a coke and it was love at first sight! Shortly thereafter I realised that if I wanted to marry this girl, I would have to get a real job and cut my hair...

I therefore moved to Johannesburg in 1998 to find a job and we were married a few months later.

I had never had much access to computers until I went to university and while there, fell in love with them. As a result I never worked in the biological field but went straight into the information technology sector. I worked as a support technician, web designer, consultant - all kinds of things and voraciously devoured all I could learn.

Today I am more involved in project management than software development but I still enjoy what I do immensely and constantly develop websites and applications as a hobby.

I have two wonderful children Ashleigh (6) and Nathan (3) and am still happily married 9 years later.
